:D Exactly. Though RBF makes it trivial to replace the TX to an own address, but like many mentioned here, CC payments can be revoked, one can pay with counterfeit 5 usd money, or leave without paying; there has to be some level trust when dealing with this, a smart contract is not needed.
I can imagine a sensor in the buccal area detecting colombian coffee at a specific degree signalling the blockchain before resolving the contract, for a more trustless exchange.
Edit: Dammit there's some RBF lover downvoting every RBF related critique I make.

End of day summary - 09/08

The Dow fell 632.42, or 2.25%, to 27,500.89, the Nasdaq lost 465.944, or 4.11%, to 10,847.69, and the S&P 500 declined 95.12, or 2.78%, to 3,331.84.
The major averages were sharply lower in Tuesday's trading, picking up where they left off before the long holiday weekend. Tech once again was leading the charge lower, with the Nasdaq the laggard among the major averages.
Today's selling was largely a continuation of last week, but unlike Friday, buyers appeared unwilling to buy the dip. Tesla's 21% decline was a drag on the Nasdaq, while Apple's 7% decline pressured the large-cap indices and the S&P 500 information technology sector (-4.6%). The energy (-3.7%) and financials (-2.6%) sectors followed suit amid weaker oil prices ($36.76/bbl, -2.94, -7.4%) and lower Treasury yields, while the utilities sector (-0.6%) declined the least.
Besides concerns that the market's pullback had more room to go, investors had to contend with Democratic leadership rebuffing the Senate's $300 billion coronavirus relief bill, President Trump suggesting disincentives for U.S. companies to outsource jobs to China, and reports that China's largest semiconductor foundry could be added to a trade blacklist.
Production problems at a BA 787 Dreamliner factory have prompted air-safety regulators to review quality-control lapses potentially stretching back almost a decade, The Wall Street Journal reported over the weekend. This morning, Boeing said in a statement to media outlets that inspections stemming from production problems of its 787 Dreamliners are slowing deliveries.
AAPL announced an event, to be held from Apple Park on September 15, without offering details on the nature or contents of the meeting. Bloomberg is reporting the event will be focused on the iPad, not the company's new iPhone models.
The prospect of potential retaliation on U.S. semiconductor companies was an additional drag on the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index (-4.7%). Separately, Boeing (BA 161.08, -9.97, -5.8%) provided a disappointing update, saying 787 Dreamliner production problems have slowed the pace of deliveries.
Among the noteworthy gainers was NKLA, which surged +40.8% after GM, +7.9% formed a strategic partnership that was well-received by investors. WDIS, +1.7% was upgraded to Buy from Hold at Deutsche Bank.
Among the notable losers was CRBP, which fell 74% after its RESOLVE-1 Phase 3 study did not meet its primary endpoint. Also lower was ACMR, which declined 26% after Needham analyst N. Quinn Bolton downgraded the stock to Hold from Buy, saying that the company's business outlook could weaken due to its "material exposure" to Chinese chip giant SMIC. The downgrade follows reports that the Pentagon proposed for SMIC to be added to U.S. government trade blacklist.
U.S. Treasuries saw increased buying interest amid the decline in equities but closed off highs. The 2-yr yield declined two basis points to 0.14%, and the 10-yr yield declined four basis points to 0.68%. The U.S. Dollar Index rose 0.8% to 93.46. Oil prices were pressured by Saudi Aramco lowering its prices for buyers in Asia and the U.S. due to sluggish demand.
Elsewhere, Stoxx 600 provisionally closed over 1% lower, with the tech sector falling another 2% as almost all sectors and major bourses fell into negative territory. Stocks in Asia-Pacific were higher on Tuesday, as Japan released revised gross domestic product figures for the second quarter.

Currency

The U.S. Dollar Index climbed 0.8% to 93.46, recording its sixth consecutive advance.
In emerging markets, Turkey’s lira hit another record low and Russia’s rouble sagged to its lowest since April amid ongoing talk about fresh Western sanctions.

Treasury

Treasuries overtook their opening levels as the stock market opened for the day, but the buying pressure faded shortly thereafter, allowing Treasuries to inch back to their starting levels as the day went on. Today's $50 bln 3-yr note auction was met with lukewarm demand but Treasuries of most tenors remained near their midday levels into the close.

Commodity

WTI crude futures settled sharply lower by 7.4%, or $2.94, to $36.76/bbl. Prices were pressured by Saudi Arabia reducing October prices for buyers in Asia and the U.S. Gold futures settled $8.90 higher (+0.5%) to $1,943.20/oz, recouping earlier declines, as pressure from equities pushed investors into the yellow metal.
Gold’s gains came despite a stronger dollar, which rose 0.7% against rivals. Investors are now awaiting an ECB policy meeting due on Thursday, while the U.S. Federal Reserve’s next meeting is scheduled for next week.

Crypto

Bitcoin is again proving itself to be a bit too correlated with financial markets for comfort, continuing to slide right alongside stocks.

COVID-19 news

In COVID-19 news, Florida reported 650,092 cases of the virus versus 648,269 the previous day, while California reported a 2,676 increase in cases from the prior day.
The CEOs of AZN, BNTX, GSK, JNJ, MRK, MRNA, NVAX, PFE and SNY announced a pledge, outlining a "united commitment to uphold the integrity of the scientific process as they work towards potential global regulatory filings and approvals of the first COVID-19 vaccines." The statement reads in part: "We, the undersigned biopharmaceutical companies, want to make clear our on-going commitment to developing and testing potential vaccines for COVID-19 in accordance with high ethical standards and sound scientific principles. The safety and efficacy of vaccines, including any potential vaccine for COVID-19, is reviewed and determined by expert regulatory agencies around the world, such as the United States Food and Drug Administration. FDA has established clear guidance for the development of COVID-19 vaccines and clear criteria for their potential authorization or approval in the US. FDA's guidance and criteria are based on the scientific and medical principles necessary to clearly demonstrate the safety and efficacy of potential COVID-19 vaccines. More specifically, the agency requires that scientific evidence for regulatory approval must come from large, high quality clinical trials that are randomized and observer-blinded, with an expectation of appropriately designed studies with significant numbers of participants across diverse populations...We believe this pledge will help ensure public confidence in the rigorous scientific and regulatory process by which COVID-19 vaccines are evaluated and may ultimately be approved. We believe this pledge will help ensure public confidence in the rigorous scientific and regulatory process by which COVID-19 vaccines are evaluated and may ultimately be approved." The companies also pledged to "only submit for approval or emergency use authorization after demonstrating safety and efficacy through a Phase 3 clinical study that is designed and conducted to meet requirements of expert regulatory authorities such as FDA."

How to Convert Reddit MOONS to Dai (and then Ethereum, Bitcoin, fiat etc)

There are already good resources out there such as:
https://medium.com/dappworks/full-guide-convert-reddits-moon-cryptocurrency-into-e349ec1992d0#:~:text=Click%20on%20arrow%20button%20in,Click%20%E2%80%9CSEND%20MOONS%E2%80%9D
Hopefully, the guide below can help fill in any blanks or give you an alternate route. Please note this is a long and fairly complex process and runs the risk of loosing MOONs and small amounts of Ethereum and Dai which are used in the transfer process. I take no responsibility for individuals using this guide and it is up to you to research other resources and do your due diligence.

  1. Post engaging content, comments or memes...
  2. Hope that you get upvotes
  3. The more upvotes you get, the more MOONS (a cryptocurrency token) at the end of the month you get
  4. These MOONS are tokens on the Rinkeby Test Network, not the main Ethereum blockchain
  5. Now time to convert these MOONS to Ethereum, Bitcoin, fiat etc
  6. Please note that I am not responsible for any loss of funds beyond this point to proceed with caution!!!
  7. You will want to link your reddit MOONS account to a Metamask account
  8. Download Metamask if you haven't already (it's a Chrome app)
  9. Find out the seed phrase for your Reddit Moons Wallet (don't share this with anyone and keep it safe!). Do this by opening the reddit app and clicking on 'Vault' on the left hand menu
  10. Then click the three little dots next to Vault (at the top)
  11. Now click Recovery Phrase
  12. Write this down with pen and paper
  13. Now open Metamask and import your seed phrase to link the account (Note that your MOONS will probably not appear yet, will get to that later)
  14. Next up we are going to want to go to the exchange where we can swap our MOON tokens for Eth (although it is not as straightforward a process as you might think)
  15. https://xmoon.exchange/
  16. You will see that this exchange has three sections. The first allows us to exchange MOONS (on the Rinkeby blockchain) to XMOONS (on the XDai blockchain, where Gas fees are paid in XDai rather than Eth). The second section allows us to exchange XMOONS for XDai. The third section allows us to exchange XDai for good old fashioned Ethereum (on the actual Ethereum blockchain).
  17. Before we get started with any exchanging, we need to configure metamask a bit.
  18. First up we are going to make Metamask show the MOONS that we have. To do this, change the network from 'Main Ethereum Network' to 'Rinkeby Test Network' at the top dropdown menu. Now click 'Add Token' and custom token. Now input the following:
  19. Token contract address: 0xDF82c9014F127243CE1305DFE54151647d74B27A
  20. Click next once
  21. Now click back (weird I know)
  22. In the decimals of precision enter 18
  23. You should now be able to see the correct number of MOONS and this should match the amount you saw on your vault in Reddit
  24. In preparation for later we are also going to want to add the xDai network to our metamask
  25. To do this click on that drop down at the top of top of metamask again and click Custom RPC
  26. Now enter exactly what is shown here https://www.xdaichain.com/for-users/wallets/metamask/metamask-setup
  27. Still with me? Now we are going to get to exchanging
  28. Switch metamask back to Rinkeby Test Network and on xmoon.exchange click 'connect' and follow the instructions shown on metamask
  29. We are also going to need some Rinkeby Ethereum (don't worry it's free since its just a test network, go to https://faucet.rinkeby.io/ to get some (don't need much)
  30. Now click MOON to xMOON and convert the amount you want to!
  31. This process can take quite a while (took me 30 mins) so grab a coffee
  32. To check if you have xMOONs now, change your metamask over to xDai network
  33. They should appear on the xmoon.exchange site
  34. Next we want to convert these xMoon's into xDai, however, we have to have some xDai in there in the first place to pay for the gas (remember that this xDai blockchain uses xDai to pay for gas not Eth!). To do this, buy some Dai (20 USD should do) in your favourite way (normal exchange, DeFi, etc.) and transfer it to your Metamask account Eth account (ON THE MAIN ETHEREUM BLOCKCHAIN, DON'T USE RINKEBY!). Also transfer around 10 USD worth of Eth to your metamask to cover any gas fees on the Main Ethereum Blockchain side of things.
  35. Great, now while keeping Metamask on the Main Ethereum Blockchain, click DAI to xDAI and convert around10-20 USD.
  36. Once this xDai has shown up (again could take a while), switch metamask back over to xDai blockchain and click xMOON to xDai (this should be fairly quick)
  37. Now click xDai to Dai (might take a while again, don't panic like I did!)
  38. You should now have Dai on the Ethereum blockchain held in your metamask (which you can see once you switch metamask back over to Main Ethereum)
  39. Feel free now to do with the Dai whatever you wish! Send to an exchange and swap to BTC or Eth, keep a hold of in metamask etc etc

Please feel free to offer comments and corrections in the comments :)

The story of how I paid 90 USD for Modafinil worth 7$ (and waited a month for it).

I hope it's okay to re-post it here. I would hate to have it deleted from Reddit and I would really appreciate this community opinion.
On 4th of September I ordered 50x Modalert 200mg from High Street Pharma. I paid with Bitcoin for extra 30% pills and 25% discount. In total I paid 90$ for order shipped from their EU warehouse: Exhibit A.
3 days later I got an email from them informing me of "stock problems" and asking:
is it fine if we ship Modaawake 200mg and Artvigil 150mg? (...)
We will add extras for you.
I did some research on Modawake-200mg and discovered it is just cheaper version of Modalert. Getting Artvigil-150mg was actually great news for me, because I wanted to order it later from HSP anyway. It is still much cheaper than Modalert-200, but I assumed I will be getting some extras to make up the difference.
Spoiler alert: I was wrong.
After agreeing - I waited for my tracking number and stayed in touch with HSP customer service. I never had to wait long for reply. I was offered refund on 15th of September (11 days after ordering) if I don't get tracking number next day. Luckily I got it!
Well... my order wasn't shipped on 16th, it was shipped 2 days later, but tracking code was generated on 16th, so technically HSP kept the promise.
I had no idea Hungarian Post is so slow. It took 12 days to get to UK. One could walk this distance in 12 days! (Well, almost. It actually takes a little over 13 days).
My parcel arrived shortly after, on 3rd of October: Exhibit B.
What I found inside was really disappointing.
All I got was 60 Modawake-200 pills! No Artvigil-150 at all! Not only that - my order was also 5 pills short (30% of 50 is 15, so I should get 65 pills). I've sent an email to HSP and I was told:
Unfortunately it is not allowed to cut the pills and ship.
However we can add extra 5 with your next order. (...)
There was no Artvigil in order that was placed so we didn't give that.
I've replied with (IMO) valid question - how are they going to add 5 pills if they can't cut it? I also reminded him what I agreed to - "is it fine if we ship Modaawake 200mg and Artvigil 150mg?" .
Now - you may say I'm being difficult. It's the same substance, I was short only 5 pills and I misunderstood them in the first place. Maybe you're right, but do you know "Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price" [per 10 tabs] of different brands of Modafinil?

Name Indian Rupee USD
Modvigil-200 98₹ 1.34$
Artvigil-150 160₹ 2.18$
Modawake-200 80₹ 1.09$
Modalert-200 245₹ 3.34$
Waklert-150 247₹ 3.37$
As you can see - I paid 90$ for pills worth 6.54$ + shipping from Hungary to UK (30 days long shipping). I know paying 90$ for 65x Modalert-200 (MSRP 21.71$) is not much better, but... it still is 3 times better!
Next time you get all excited about the amazing 20%!, 25%!, 30%! off and all those extra pills! you're getting from your amazing vendor! - remember how much money he actually makes off you.
I really hope my story won't end here and HSP will get back to me (it is weekend after all!). Obviously I will keep you guys updated!
If you're curious why there's such a big difference in price between brands of the same product: first three are manufactured by HAB and the last two by SunPharma. There should be MSRP (MRP) per 10 tablets printed on every blister pack you got - "Rs" stands for Indian Rupee ₹.

Tempted by crypto savings account that pays 11.7% interest. Thoughts?

If you found a financial institution paying 11.7% annual interest would you take advantage?
Ledn, a Canadian company out of Toronto, pays 11.7% for holding USDC (a cryptocurrency locked to the value of USD) in an account, which their partner Genesis uses for offering loans.
You can withdraw at any time with a $10 fee. "Interest accrues daily and is paid and compounded monthly in all Ledn Savings Accounts."
Comes with this disclaimer: "Ledn has a very thorough protocol for lending Bitcoin and USDC and works with best-in-class industry partners to minimize the risk of its operations. However, Bitcoin and USDC held within the Savings Accounts is not covered by CDIC or any kind of deposit protection insurance policy."
Very tempting, but crypto.

End of day summary - 09/23

The Dow fell 525.05, or 1.92%, to 26,763.13, the Nasdaq lost 330.65, or 3.02%, to 10,632.98, and the S&P 500 declined 78.65, or 2.37%, to 3,236.92.
The S&P 500 dropped 2.4% on Wednesday in a broad-based retreat that reflected cash-raising efforts. The Nasdaq Composite fell 3.0%, the Russell 2000 fell 3.0%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 1.9%.
U.S. equity futures were firmer in early trading following an agreement on a continuing resolution to avoid a government shutdown and J&J announcing that it has begun a large phase 3 trial of its COVID-19 vaccine. However, the early gains did not hold and the major averages were all in the red by midday.
All 11 S&P 500 sectors closed sharply lower between 1.1% (health care) and 4.6% (energy), and traditional safe-haven assets did not see the usual appreciation in times of equity weakness.
An initial weakness in the mega-cap stocks, however, gradually spilled over to the broader market, and the negative price action appeared to reinforce the idea that the market's recent pullback may not yet have run its course. The CBOE Volatility Index increased 6.4% to 28.58, which was a relatively modest gain.
Losses steepened in the afternoon without much interest to buy the dip. Shares of AAPL fell 4% while TSLA fell 10% post-Battery Day. On a related note, UBS resumed coverage on Apple with a Neutral rating, versus a prior Buy rating.
Data from the Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering shows there are now 31.7M confirmed cases of COVID-19 worldwide, including 6.9M in the U.S., and 972,372 deaths due to the disease, including 201,000 in the U.S.
Separately, the House passed a government funding bill through Dec. 11 that the Senate is expected to pass later this week. Notwithstanding this piece of good news, general uncertainty surrounding the election, the coronavirus, and the economy likely increased the cash appeal.
In other auto news, California Governor Gavin Newsom announced that he will "aggressively move the state further away from its reliance on climate change-causing fossil fuels while retaining and creating jobs and spurring economic growth," issuing an executive order requiring sales of all new passenger vehicles to be zero-emission by 2035 and additional measures to "eliminate harmful emissions from the transportation sector."
Among the notable gainers was WDC, which rose 6.7% after the company announced that it is reorganizing and creating separate business units for its Flash and Hard Drive product businesses.
Among the notable losers was JPM, which was lower by 1.6% after Bloomberg reported that the bank is set to pay close to $1B to resolve market manipulation investigations by U.S. authorities into its trading of metals futures and Treasury securities.
Additionally, shares of DAL fell 2.2% as Bloomberg said that the airline is in talks with EADSY to delay at least 40 aircraft deliveries planned for this year due to the airline's struggles with a travel market hit by the coronavirus pandemic.
Elsewhere, European stocks closed higher Wednesday as investors reacted to key data releases from the euro zone and weighed up the possibility of further stimulus measures for the region. Stocks in Asia-Pacific were mixed on Wednesday.

Currency

The U.S. Dollar Index rose 0.4% to 94.32, reaching its best level in nearly four months.

Treasury

U.S. Treasuries ended Wednesday on a modestly lower note, but once again, intraday action was confined to a narrow range. The trading day started with modest losses after overnight action saw a rally in European markets, which reflected a rebound in risk tolerance. However, that rebound was short-lived, resulting in a slide into the European close and more weakness on Wall Street.

Commodity

Oil rose more than 1% on Wednesday, supported by U.S. government data that showed crude and fuel inventories dropped last week, although concerns about the ongoing coronavirus pandemic capped gains. Spot gold dipped 1.5% to $1,870.11 per ounce, having hit its lowest since Aug. 12 at $1,865.03.

Crypto

Bitcoin fell as investors sold equities, gold and other fiat currencies on renewed coronavirus concerns.

Recently my mother told me that she was a victim of a scam, but not just a few hundred dollars, not a few thousand... She got taken for around $125,000, 401k cleaned out, retirement gone, second mortgage, credit cards opened and maxed out, sold her car, loans taken out and emptied...
How did they do it? They hacked a Facebook account of one of her cousins and that compromised account blasted out the message: “Hey I just got a grant from the IDA (Independent Development Association) I saw your name on the list, did you get your $150,000 check yet?”
That spiral led into her texting an “agent” who got all of her information and told her that she needed to pay for the secure courier which was $1,000... Months go by with regular contact, always a new “problem” like “the check got delayed here for a customs check and you need to pay $500”. They told her that she was bound to secrecy as if she told anyone beyond my step dad, they would be disqualified. They told her that they needed to monitor her phone calls to make sure she didn’t tell anyone, they provided her with a “court order subpoena” which was obviously fake, but she didn’t know. They logged into her cell account and ordered 20+ new iPhone 11 Pro Max from her cell provider on her credit. Then they actually paid her account for 2 months before ghosting her... They hacked her Facebook and tried to recruit more people into their scam...
It was always a promise of more money if you do this or that... $150,000 then $250,000 all the way to $750,000...
[************************************************]
Preface: Always be safe when scam hunting/baiting Use an encrypted email (ProtonMail is free) Use a good proxy/VPN (pay for it, it’s worth it) NEVER give out your personal details
I got all the information from my mother about: The phone number she texted. The person she talked to. Where/who she shipped the cell phones to. Where/who she sent cash to.
(1) First contact/a little payback
From that I started by contacting the scammer... My Facebook is already locked down so the information you get from my profile is very little, I reached out to my mother’s compromised FB through messenger and got a bite. They told me to text a number from the US to which I happily obliged.
I used a texting app in conjunction with a VPN on my computer running a VM (virtual machine) I can control all the information released like OS, browser and such if they know how to look it’ll all be spoofed.
I spoke with the scammer who had me “fill out a form” and he was working from a script, which is hard to break them from...
This form he sent me, he accidentally forgot to clear it off from the last person he scammed so I had all of the information from the victim *I immediately call this guy and saved him before he sent any money luckily.
So I digress, I occupy the scammers time for about 6 hours, giving him issues and excuses finally getting him off script. He directs me to a “local” bitcoin ATM to send a deposit of $1,500. I go through a host of issues while he gave me his first BTC address. I google a good picture of a bitcoin ATM and began photoshopping error messages until I had an epiphany...
I told the scammer that the machine was giving me an error that his account was unverified and that he needed to “mirror” the transaction by first sending me $1,500 to unlock the transfer and it would be immediately refunded and my “$1,500” would be sent too. Unfortunately it didn’t work, so he gives me the second BTC address. What do ya know, same error lol...
After a back and forth for about an hour, I couldn’t believe it, he agreed to “mirror” the transaction... So I scrambled to get a clean BTC address and sent it to him. He agreed to send $200 to see if it worked... Low and behold I just received $200... So what do I do next? Give in? No. I just changed the photoshop to say “Pending $1,300” now lol...
He bit, hard. After more talking and pretending to be a helpless 64 year old guy with $20,000 ready to give him the scammer saw green and got greedy... More debate, more discussion, he sent another $500. Give in now? No... Back to photoshop... “Pending $800” To cut it short, he sure as hell sent the other $800... After a back and forth I sent him doctored up transaction receipts saying it was all transferred back to him. Getting him off script and getting him to pay a fraction of what he stole, is that enough? No. I promptly withdrew the money and gave it to my mom, it wasn’t much but just a little victory for now...
(2) Finding the mules
The next day the scammer cuts all contact with me, so I spoof a new number and call him. It rings and goes to voicemail and I hear his voice, sounds distorted with a British accent but broken English, I assume African. I leave only my telephone number on the recording saying “call me back” (we’ll come back to this)
I move on to the places the phones were sent, first up, an apartment complex about an hour from me. But I’m not looking for a direct contact situation as I don’t know who or what they’re capable of... So I get the shipping details and find a very unique name but for Reddit we’ll call her Mrs. “E”.
I begin tearing into her life, public records, credit report info, and phone records, I get it all... Time to make contact, I send an unassuming text to her number, asking for help. Surprisingly she responded, I began by asking her about a shipment she got in and the name of the shipping company she was receiving packages for. Radio silence for a few hours, then the denial began... I hit her with the hard facts, and just enough information so she knows I know everything about her...
Mrs. E breaks and gives me the info I need. She was contacted by a friend who owns a shipping company in Lagos, Nigeria, they asked her to take the package of iPhones and forward them to him via another courier service. Mrs. E gave me everything.
Next is Mrs. R who my mother sent actual cash to... I looked up the address and find it’s a duplex in Midwest. So I do a quick search of the name and nothing comes up... I then use the County Assessment District to get the public tax records and owner information. I contact the owner and give him the name I have and explain why I’m looking for her information. He gave me all the details he could as Mrs. R is the girlfriend of his tenant and the name I had was wrong. Waiting to get Mrs. R’s records right now I’ll get everything on her just like Mrs. E, she’ll bend to my will.
(3) International Phone Calls
So while I was searching for Mrs. R’s records I get a phone call... It’s a Nigerian number... I answered and find out it’s my scammer that I left a message for... This genius calls me from his actual cell number, which is not the number I called and left a message for. Currently working on getting his subscriber information but it’s proving hard (if anyone can help reply).
I call up the owner of the shipping company in Nigeria and tell him that I’m looking for shipping details and quotes, I’m still working on his information... He’s a pleasant person to talk to, I will ruin him...
So that’s where I’m at for now, but I definitely will keep you all updated.
Mini-update 8/16/20: The owner of the shipping company apologized that his courier service had anything to do with the transactions. I’m not sure if I believe that but he did give me a name and 2 phone numbers he had on file for the customer. I’m really needing someone who can check these numbers out... If I can get a carrier identified I can work my magic on them to get the info I need.
Update #1: 8/17/2020 Today I got all of Mrs. “R”s info minus good contact information... Pitty... But I’ll find it. The number on her file with her last loan didn’t pan out... I’ll come back to this tomorrow...
I back traced the scammers cell phones with a little help from a friend, both phones are confirmed cell phones with active service with 2 different cell phone providers in Nigeria. I’m still lacking on the subscriber information, but I know where to look now... I reached out to the Nigerian Police Force to see if they can help, I doubt they can but you never know what you can get without asking...
The scammer himself reached out to another dummy account I set up. I gave him a little scare, he asked who referred me to him... I gave him his own name, he hasn’t responded yet...
https://imgur.com/gallery/EvfLcgy
Update #2: 8/31/2020 So after name dropping the scammer I got dead silence. Luckily I was able to capture his IP address. I worked with a few contacts I made and found he was using the “Text Now” app, did a little magic and found out the “main scammer” actually is working in a call center.
But interestingly enough I found that the workers there on average make like $500usd a month... (more on that later)
So I have numerous fake Facebook accounts optimized for international connections, even though they look and are set up American, with them connected to the profiles from Africa or Russia, you can set your profile up to show up to them first, and you’ll be flooded with friends and messages...
Another scammer reached out to me and I played along and made friends with them. I ran a game on him for a little bit and just came out and told him what I was trying to do. I asked him to help me, but it was off how he was replying, I called him on the phone and he told me that he was “busy in the office”. So he ghosted me, or so I thought...
I get a text message from a Nigerian number that I did not know a few hours later. He tells me that he was the one I was talking to, he went on to explain that everything they do is monitored, there are about 20 of them in this room with computers, and several cell phones at their station. This guy goes on to explain that he controls about 15 different profiles, as many phone numbers as he can, and several emails, all of which are for scamming.
So I think I’ve just developed an asset in Nigeria........ He has agreed to help me for money. He explained to me that he pulls on average $40,000 usd a month, I don’t know if that figure is true, but it’s believable...
Mr. Asset goes on to tell me that if they hit their goal they make $250 a month, and for every so many $$$’s above their goal they get bonuses.
So ladies and gents’ I’ve got boots on the ground. (Hopefully) I’ll keep you all updated.
Not officially an update but figured I’d share it anyway! https://www.reddit.com/SuicideWatch/comments/ikfno1/went_looking_to_ruin_a_life_ended_up_saving_one/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

End of day summary - 09/11

The Dow rose 131.06, or 0.48%, to 27,665.64, the Nasdaq lost 66.05, or 0.60%, to 10,853.55, and the S&P 500 advanced 1.78, or 0.05%, to 3,340.97.
Traders at /thewallstreet cheered as volatility returned to the stock market.
The major averages finished Friday's trading in mixed fashion, as dip buyers provided support for the Dow and the continued tech selloff made the Nasdaq the laggard once again. The chances for another round of fiscal stimulus ahead of the election were hurt yesterday after Democrats stopped the passage of the "skinny" GOP package, but the U.S. economy looks poised for a strong rebound in Q3, corporate earnings continue to largely overshoot pessimistic forecasts and the Fed remains "all in," leaving investors to mull the cross-currents.
Similar to the days before, today's price action was technically-oriented given the absence of market-moving news and the losses in stocks like AAPL, -1.3%, AMZN, -1.9%, and MSFT, -0.7% on no specific corporate news. Apple shares fell 7.4% this week.
The difference today was that their losses were offset by relative strength in the cyclical sectors, namely industrials (+1.4%), materials (+1.3%), and financials (+0.8%). Still, when Apple and Amazon are down more than 1.0%, there must be more winners than losers to make a meaningful difference.
There were more of the latter on Friday, as declining issues outpaced advancing issues at the NYSE and Nasdaq. The information technology (-0.8%), consumer discretionary (-0.3%), and communication services (-0.3%) sectors ended the day in negative territory due to their exposure to the mega-cap stocks.
Interestingly, the S&P 500 was down as much as 0.9% intraday and fell below its 50-day moving average (3322). A broad rebound in the afternoon, however, helped the benchmark index turn positive and close above the key technical level.
In TikTok news, President Trump said that the deadline established for China's ByteDance to sell video-sharing service TikTok's U.S. operations would not be extended, Reuters reported. "It'll either be closed up or they'll sell it," the president told reporters, adding, "There will be no extension of the TikTok deadline." MSFT in partnership with WMT and Oracle have been seen as the leading suitors to purchase TikTok's operations in the U.S., Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
Subsequently, Reuters reported that Chinese officials are so opposed to a forced sale of TikTok's U.S. operations that they would prefer to see the app shut down in the U.S. over that conclusion. Reuters noted that China was willing, if needed, to use revisions it made to a technology exports list on Aug. 28 to delay any deal reached by ByteDance.
Electric vehicle hopeful NKLA continued its fight this morning with a short-seller, which now appears to be "short-sellers." Nikola issued a statement in response to claims made about the company by activist short-seller Hindenburg Research yesterday, calling the firm's report "a hit job for short sale profit driven by greed." Nikola, which added that it has "nothing to hide and we will refute these allegations," announced that it has retained law firm Kirkland & Ellis to evaluate potential legal recourse and intends to bring the actions of the short-seller, together with evidence and documentation, to the attention of the SEC. Following the company's press release regarding the response, Andrew Left's Citron Research said via Twitter, "Congrats to Hindenburg for exposing what appears to be a total fraud with $NKLA. Citron will cover half of all legal expenses. You can't SLAPP the truth away. Explains why Milton sold at $10 this June $NKLA response warrants an SEC investigation to maintain integrity of EV mkt." After having dropped 11% on Thursday, Nikola shares fell a further 14.5%.
Meanwhile, CNBC reported that AAPL has updated its App Store guidelines ahead of the release of iOS 14, with one major revision relating to game streaming services. The tech giant said in its revised guidelines that services such as Google Stadia (GOOG) and Microsoft xCloud are explicitly permitted, though under the condition that games offered in the service must be downloaded directly from the App Store, not from an all-in-one app.
Among the noteworthy gainers was Shares of ORCL, which was in focus after the company reported what Barclays analyst Raimo Lenschow called a "surprisingly strong beat" and growth on licenses despite the continued macro uncertainty. NOG, which rose 1.3% after acquiring interests in the Delaware Basin and raising Q3 production guidance. Also higher was CX, which gained 8.3% in New York after Morgan Stanley analyst Nikolaj Lippmann upgraded the stock to Overweight from Equal Weight.
Among the notable losers was AMRS, which dropped 25.8% after responding to a lawsuit filed by Lavvan against the company for patent infringement and trade secret misappropriation. Also lower was CHWY, which declined 9.8% after reporting some cats have tried to take over the company with whiteclaws.
Despite a blowout fiscal Q4 report, PTON were 4.2% lower following last night's from the fitness products and services provider.
Elsewhere stocks were higher, with the Shanghai composite up 0.79% to around 3,260.35 while the Shenzhen component rose 1.57% to about 12,942.95. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index advanced 0.78% to end its trading day at 24,503.31.

Currency

The U.S. Dollar Index (93.35, +0.01, unch) reclaimed its overnight loss, gaining 0.7% for the week.

Treasury

U.S. Treasuries ended the abbreviated week with modest gains across the curve. The cash session started with some light selling for the second day in a row, but the market recovered from the early dip with ease.

Commodity

Gold slipped on Friday on a lack of further stimulus from the European Central Bank and the U.S. government, but for the week the safe-haven metal was set to end higher. Crude remained on track for a second weekly drop as investors expected a global glut to persist if demand weakens further with rising COVID-19 cases in some countries.

Crypto

Bitcoin is struggling to gather upside traction despite repeated defense of support at $10,000. The top cryptocurrency’s sell-off from the August high of $12,476 looks to have come to a halt near $10,000 over the past seven days.

YTD

  • FAAMG + some penny stocks +21.0% YTD
  • Spoos +3.4% YTD
  • Old man -3.1% YTD
  • Russy -10.3% YTD

CPI

Total CPI increased 0.4% m/m while core CPI, which excludes food and energy, also rose 0.4%. Those gains left total CPI up 1.3% yyr and core CPI up 1.7% yyr.
The key takeaway from the report, which featured the largest increase in the index for used cars and trucks (+5.4%) since March 1969, is that the increase in the all items index was broad-based; nonetheless, annual inflation rates are still running well below 2.0%, so there is still more noise than bothersome policy signal in the August report.

Why hasn't the main function of Bitcoin gone mainstream yet?

Let me preface by saying this is not meant to be criticism or hate towards Bitcoin, cryptocurrencies, blockchain, etc. I've invested thousands in Bitcoin in the past, HODLed like you wouldn't believe through its massive ups and downs, and bought/sold it multiple times along with other cryptos. I see its potential as a legitimate currency, or rather I did.
But therein lies the issue I've been struggling with. To my understanding, the main function of a currency is to spend it and use it to purchase things and to pay bills. Bitcoin, a CURRENCY, is surely intended for such uses as well, as are other cryptocurrencies across the market. Therefore, why has this function not gone mainstream with Bitcoin yet? Why aren't that many people using cryptos to actually spend it on things, which is literally the purpose of any currency? And if that isn't their main purpose, why are they called currencies?
It just seems like a very tiny percentage of people who own Bitcoin actually spend it on things, and even less do so regularly. It seems the vast majority of people who purchase it simply do so with the intention to sell it later at a higher price or to add value to their investment portfolio. This is perfectly fine, of course, but that can't possibly be the main function of Bitcoin if it's meant to be a currency, something meant to be SPENT on things.
Then there's the argument that not enough people are familiar with Bitcoin...that argument just doesn't hold anymore, especially with its value having peaked (so far) at $20K in late 2017 and continuing above 11,000 until just recently. Pretty much everyone and their grandma has heard of Bitcoin at this point and knows what it is. There's also the issue of not many major online retailers currently accepting Bitcoin as a form of payment, like Amazon, eBay, Walmart, Target, Apple etc. and they drive the vast majority of eCommerce.
My guess is its value is too volatile and unstable for people to treat it the same way they treat their actual money (USD, etc.). It seems its fluctuating value has dwarfed its true purpose; since its value is so unsteady, people see it as having potential to increase a return on their investment if they later sell it for a profit. So they'd rather just do that than to actually spend it on a new pair of shoes or something. Plus, say what you will about the diminishing value of the US dollar, but it seems it'll be far more stable than the Bitcoin will be in the foreseeable future, possibly ever.
And my last point is something I've wondered since I first even heard of Bitcoin. Regular government-appointed currencies like the US dollar are already pretty much digital anyway, since people buy things online and know how to send payments digitally and load them on their PayPal account or send them through online venders like Square Cash, Venmo, Chase QuickPay etc. So isn't that way too hard for cryptocurrencies to compete with, since that is far too mainstream and established and people trust it too much already?
Yes I'm aware of the benefits crypto has over regular currencies like USD, but as it stands now, those benefits seem to be outweighed by its volatility that make its intended purpose far less lucrative. Again, please don't interpret this as hating on Bitcoin, but merely an attempt to understand it. I just don't see that many people treating it as anything other than a stock, which is not at all the same thing as a currency. Feel free to change my mind.
TL DR: If the main function of Bitcoin is to spend it, why doesn't anyone really use it for that intended purpose?

Complying to a scammer, but not quite the way he wanted me to!

So finally I did not send him payment proof,I sent him a spoofed link to fetch his IP with a link to "payment proof" and got his IP and location (cant showr a real link bc it has my IP in it...) And was like " oh hey how is the whether in Irele, Nigeria??"
Needless to say he blocked me straight away after I called him a disgraceful sc*m but hey..... I still called the corresponding banks, the UK Fraud Action and the FBI just to make sure and shared all of the details without any editting :)
Have fun "mate"! If they can freeze only 1 $ and return it to a likely victim, I am more then happy
Cheers dont get scammed!
TL/DR: Scammed a Nigerian scammer into sending me real accounts, names and details in UK and US (mules) to forward to the police and may or may not have donated 500 to charity.

Please recommend me a seedbox - large-ish storage on good network

Recommendation form
Are you OK with direct message offers from vendors?
NO but you can reply here and ask me for DM
What are your main reasons for getting a seedbox?
I run rtorrent, plex, sonarr, a couple of other things
Do you have any specific requirements?
The seedbox I am looking to replace (price jump) has 32GB of RAM and 32TB disk. I am not hurting for ratio so I could go to 16GB RAM and give up the pagecache. I'd like to compare options between 32T and 16T
Are you looking for a shared or dedicated solution?
Dedicated.
Are you looking for managed or unmanaged solution?
Unmanaged. I want to do everything - starting with installing the OS - myself. A slight plus to a hoster who can advise on seedbox tuning (advise me ... not do it)
Please describe your Seedbox experience:
Good?
Currently with a provider or used one before?
Yes - down to two seedboxes and this would be to replace the deep-storage one. I've had up to 4 going at a time with different providers in the past. Consider my post as a 'market check' from somebody who understands this space but hasn't looked around in a year or two.
What is your Linux experience?
Scale of 1 to 10 - I'm 11
What is your monthly budget?
could pay 100 USD but would prefer 50
Payment preferences or requirements?
Nothing strong - cc, paypal, bitcoin fine. Would like to avoid monthly toil to pay - automatic billing is good. I am ok with quarterly or annual if I trust the provider.
Do you need support for public trackers?
No.
Routing: Tell us your continent:
North America
What kind of connection speeds do you need?
1GB is fine
How much monthly bandwidth is needed?
I can fit in 100TB
How much disk space do you need?
32 would be equivalent to current box. 24 might be sweet spot but would look at 16
List some features you are looking for:
Dedicated server in europe - 16g 16t minimum - prefer 24 or 32 full control from os install up - assume I'm using a non-debian variant
Anything else you think we should know?
I think I got it all - so summary: This box isn't for racing - it's deep storage. It only joins torrents that I've already completed on another seedbox, or sonarradarr wishlist items which are ok with a little delay to join.

SOLIDARITY HACKER SCAM - RUN AWAY!!

My iPhone 11 Pro got stolen, and I decided to browse the net for a hacker who could help relocate. By coincidence, I saw solidarity hacker and contacted them. I have never had any experience quite like this.
They told me they could relocate any iPhone, even if it's switched off. It would cost 850 USD, to be paid in bitcoin. I decided to pay. The hacker (who is very rude) said it would take 24 hours to get a location, and to send him the phone nr of the SIM card in the phone, and IMEI.
I did that straight away. Didn't hear anything for 2 days. I sent a follow up email and the answer was, in bold: I SAID, SEND ME YOUR IMEI... I replied it was sent 2 days ago already. No apologies (that's what you get with uneducated people...). 24 hours later, I got a mail back with a link to a website and a log in... Zero explanations.
When I inquired what was next, the answer was absolutely shocking! They said: you need to buy a subscription to a particular transmitter, then we can track your phone. COST OF THE TRANSMITTER: 7600 USD!?
Never before did they mention any procedure, or any extra cost. It was very clear: 850 USD to relocate my stolen iPhone, period. All of a sudden, I had to pay another 7600 USD for a 1100 USD phone...?!?
When I complained and was shocked, the very rude answers were extremely dismissive. As a non-tech person, I am not aware of transmitters, back-end work, or any of that. The explanations were extremely poor, and every new email, I found out new procedures, or new pieces of information that I was never told until I actually paid the 850 USD.
The hacker service said my 850 USD was fully refundable, so I said I wanted a full refund. Then he tried to persuade me to go through with it and pay the 7600 USD. Once again I said there is no way in hell I would pay more than 8000 USD for a stupid 1100 USD phone.
Until today, ZERO refunds. I am stuck having paid 850 USD and received absolutely ZERO service. The hacker simply doesn't reply anymore and has run off with my money.
The whole experience was an absolute shocker. While I hope the person behind this company is tech smart, the entire business model, the way he treats clients, the madness of it all, is completely mind blowingly scandalous and poor.

Is Cryptocurrency Really The Future?

Is Cryptocurrency Really The Future?
Over the past decade, cryptocurrency has become a breaker of old approaches in monetary policy, finance, economics, and e-commerce. The speed at which the crypto industry is growing today is very impressive. The global cryptocurrency market volume is predicted to reach $1,758 million by 2027 with a compound annual growth rate of 11.2%.
by StealthEX
More and more people are getting faced with the digital currency so the questions on the future of cryptocurrencies are becoming especially relevant today. So what is the future of cryptocurrency? In this article, we’ll try to figure this out.
Predicting the crypto world’s future is impossible without knowing the current situation on the cryptocurrencies market.

What trends can we observe today?

• Nowadays the crypto market is in its formation stage. We can see an increase in the number of areas where blockchain technology is getting involved. The COVID19 and panic that it caused in the markets are also accelerating cryptocurrency adoption.
• Any cryptocurrencies rate is rigidly tied to the situation in the crypto market.
• Bitcoin and Ethereum are the biggest influencers in the cryptocurrency market.
• Investors are paying attention to the crypto projects that are aimed to create platforms for launching decentralized applications (dApps).
• Significant growth of decentralized finance (DeFi).
• Decentralized Internet (Web 3.0) is actively increasing and creating the basis for the Internet of Things development.
The growth of digital currencies around the world allows making some predictions about the future of crypto market. Let’s look ahead to the future and try to forecast the prospective trends in the crypto world development.

Bitcoin’s reign will not end

The first thing that worries many crypto holders is “What will happen to Bitcoin”?
The ups and downs of Bitcoin’s rate, rumors about the next hard fork, legalization in some countries, and prohibition in others — all these kinds of news makes people guess what will come up with the most popular coin. Experts have different opinions from a complete drop in price to the status of the only currency in the world.
Most experts are leaning towards that Bitcoin will maintain its current positions and even strengthen them. For example, John McAfee, businessman and computer programmer, says:
“You can’t stop things like Bitcoin. It’s like trying to stop gunpowder.”
He also made a bet that if Bitcoin will not cost $500,000 by the end of December 2020 he will eat his own…well, you know.
James Altucher, American hedge-fund manager, author, podcaster and entrepreneur, is not sure that BTC price will reach 1 000 000 USD:
“Will it be a million dollars in 2020? Maybe. Will it be 2021? 2022? Who knows.”
He also predicted that:
“At least one country’s currency is likely to fail soon — likely Argentina or Venezuela. This will lead to mass adoption of Bitcoin among that populace. That will in turn lead to Bitcoin rising by more than $50,000 when it happens.”
And just a few days after this forecast, the Venezuelan President announced that they are planning to release national crypto called El Petro. Right now a lot of countries like China, Tunisia, Senegal, Sweden, Singapore, Uruguay, Thailand, Turkey, and Iran are also working on the creation of national cryptocurrency.
So what will happen to Bitcoin? No one knows. The only thing in which many experts agree is that Bitcoin will stay as a “gold standard” in the crypto world for a long time.

Cryptocurrencies will be mainstream

“Cryptocurrencies is a fashionable investment and a sign of belonging to the special community” — this idea is actively promoted by various sports organizations, popular performers, public figures that release their own altcoins.
According to CoinMarketCap, there are already more than six thousand cryptocurrencies, and their total capitalization is $353 billion. A couple of years ago, the digital currency was almost unknown to anyone except geek developers and crypto enthusiasts. However, things are changing: prospects for businesses, rising prices, and strong community support will step by step make cryptocurrencies mainstream around the world.

Market volatility will not disappear

Cryptocurrencies are unstable by their nature, and their volatility is one of the reasons why someone becomes a millionaire and the others lose fortunes.
The strong volatility of crypto is caused by the fact that they are still at an early stage of development. Cryptocurrencies have huge growth potential if they can enter the mass market.
But every news about cryptocurrencies either hints at the possibility of markets going down or rising up. The volatility in the cryptocurrency markets will continue to be felt as the news affects the market, and it is only at the stage of rapid development.

The future of trading — decentralized exchanges

In the near future, we will see a prime of decentralized exchanges. Many believe that DEXes is not yet ready for mass adoption. But there are factors for a favorable development of events.
First of all, centralized exchanges don’t fit the purpose of cryptocurrencies cause the key advantage of digital coins is decentralization. In decentralized exchanges, transactions can be made directly between users (peer-to-peer) without the need for a trusted intermediary, which means there are no transaction fees for users.
On top of this, decentralized exchanges are much more secure against hackers as there no single point of failure like in centralized exchanges. Everyone knows the cases with Mt.Gox, Bitfinex, Coincheck when people lost millions and millions. The need for more security will lead users to decentralized exchanges.

The rise of crypto loans

“Cryptocurrency is convenient to take on credit” — not long ago this idea seemed like a wild ride since the digital currency has high volatility. But today the popularity of lending in digital currencies is increasing and here are the main reasons:
• Low-interest rates.
• Increase in the number of traders and investors for whom receiving funds immediately in cryptocurrencies is convenient.
• A simplified system of requirements for borrowers, those who hadn’t been approved for bank loans could easily receive digital money.
Nowadays, the entire crypto loaning industry is estimated at $4.7 billion and the number of crypto loan platforms will continue growing.

Regulators gonna regulate

In the early days of cryptocurrencies history, traditional financial institutions sharply criticized crypto enthusiasts. The crypto market, however, has proven that it is sturdy against these kinds of attacks. Nowadays traditional institutions’ opinion regarding cryptocurrency is changing. In the future, stakeholders can have an increase in the flow of funds from Wall Street to cryptocurrencies.
There is no doubt that this will require more transparency and regulation in the crypto market. Today government and regulatory agencies around the world, including the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Federal Bureau of Investigation, United States Department of Homeland Security, and the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (and this is only within the US borders) are giving more and more attention to cryptocurrencies. The regulation of the crypto in different states is realizing in diverse ways: in some countries, it is legally recognized as a means of payment, in others its use is prohibited.
The G20 summit participants, following the discussions on cryptocurrencies, came to the conclusion that a complete prohibition of crypto will not solve anything as nowadays the digital currency plays a significant role in the economy. And if the digital currency cannot be prohibited, it must be regulated:
“Technological innovations can deliver significant benefits to the financial system and the broader economy. While crypto-assets do not pose a threat to global financial stability at this point, we are closely monitoring developments and remain vigilant to existing and emerging risks.”
As we can see the world is changing very quickly. The speed with which cryptocurrencies are integrating into the global financial system is a clear indicator that traditional financial institutions can no longer have a monopoly on the management of financial flows.
The year 2020 is the start of a new decade for the cryptocurrency industry. The next ten years will bring us key changes in traditional finance when blockchain and cryptocurrencies will become a daily thing in most countries of the world.

10-04 05:44 - 'Why DeFi will give birth to killer applications in the banking industry?' (self.Bitcoin) by /u/SMOEY removed from /r/Bitcoin within 14-24min

'''
The financial system is on the verge of collapse, and there are no superheroes who can turn the tide in the real world. Therefore, we must learn how to rely on our own hands to protect the money we have earned. Currently, the best way is to store funds outside the traditional financial system. Decentralized finance, or DeFi for short, may become a killer application in the banking industry.
What exactly is DeFi?
This is an ecosystem of financial applications built on the blockchain (especially Ethereum), which can operate independently without the intervention of third parties or intermediaries. In 2020, the DeFi economy has grown by US$4 billion and is currently one of the fastest growing sectors in the financial sector.
The main problem with DeFi
Currently the only truly decentralized financial application is Bitcoin. Anyone with access to the Internet can store and transfer funds in a decentralized manner. But DeFi has made a further commitment: to introduce decentralization into the mainstream public view. This will provide a global and open alternative to all financial services including savings, loans, investment and insurance. Next, we will introduce three DeFi use cases that are sufficient to disrupt the traditional banking industry:
1. Stablecoins
Stablecoin is the first DeFi use case to achieve a blowout development. The idea of ”a cryptocurrency free from the long-term instability of Bitcoin” is very attractive to many people. On the one hand, it has price stability similar to the US dollar or the euro; on the other hand, it also has the speed and convenience of cryptocurrency. The stablecoin perfectly combines the advantages of the two. Currently, about 80% of encrypted transactions are conducted through Tether stablecoin. At the same time, other companies, such as USDC, TruUSD, Dai or PAX, have also experienced explosive growth in the past year. Therefore, the stable currency market definitely deserves our continued attention and expectation. After all, most bank customers are tired of inefficient and expensive services and increasing government supervision.
2. Decentralized Exchanges
Decentralized exchange (DEX) is one of the most breakthrough innovations derived from DeFi. In recent years, the number of DEX has also shown explosive growth. According to data from Dune Analytics, monthly transaction volume in 2020 has grown to nearly $12 billion. So, what is DEX? The essence of DEX is a cryptocurrency platform, users’ assets can be traded without going through an exchange. Therefore, the risk of being stolen and attacked by hackers can be greatly reduced. Currently, the most popular DEX platforms are Curve, Balancer, 0x, Dydx, Kyber, Bancor, IDEX, Oasis and Gnosis Protocol. But in fact, the ultimate reason for attracting people to join DEX is the growing and more complex “know your-client process (KYC)” demand. It stripped the anonymity of customers and caused financial exclusion of more than 2.4 billion people. They are like cancer, engulfing the entire banking system alive.
3. Borrowing and Lending Applications
To say the most compelling development in the DeFi field, one has to mention decentralized lending platforms. The DeFi lending platform can provide loans to users or companies without any intermediaries. Anyone can deposit their available assets into the shared loan pool, and those who want to borrow can withdraw assets from the pool. Currently, the most popular DeFi loan platforms are Compound, Maker, Aave and dYdX. At the same time, companies such as Blockfi, Celsius, CRED, Nexo and Crypto.com also provide annual interest rates of up to 10%. The lending platform enhances the flexibility of banking business and removes strict threshold restrictions on the location, identity, and assets of customers. This use case is expected to lead DeFi into the mainstream market.
4. Insurance
The form of DeFi insurance is still relatively conservative. It mainly acts as a safety net in the DeFi ecosystem. Users no longer need traditional banks or institutions to ensure the safety of their deposits. Although decentralized insurance is not popular in the entire DeFi community at present, it is likely to disrupt the entire insurance industry in the future. If you want to learn about insurance products other than traditional insurance companies, you can check out Nexus Mutual, Opyn, Etherisc and CDx.
Next, where are we going?
DeFi is an interesting idea with trillions of dollars in potential. If we compare DeFi with the traditional financial system, it is not difficult to find the fatal attraction in DeFi. As you can see, some DeFi projects have replaced part of the business in the centralized encryption economy, and it will not be long before it will begin to replace the traditional banking and insurance industries. Now, the financial system needs to be repaired-to make it more transparent, open and efficient. Otherwise, if we don’t properly wrap up this broken financial system, 20 years later, we will eventually pay for our stupidity at this moment.

[21:12, 24/09/2020] OP: Nice
[21:12, 24/09/2020] Scumm: Please make sure you send confirmation immediately
Have a wonderful day!
TL/DR: Scammed a Nigerian scammer into sending me real accounts, names and details in UK and US (mules) to forward to the police and may or may not have donated 500 to charity.
